Just hit the pause key!|||I don't think taking 15 minutes is a great idea but taking a small break between exercises that leave you winded is OK. Just hit pause and give yourself a minute or 2 to recover. You need to build some cardio endurance so you don't want to completely come back to resting.|||That's what I did actually. I just managed to finish my first workout which was the 30 minute basketball something training. OMG lol. It took me 45 minutes to do it and when i reviewed my stuff no wonder I had such a hard time, it had me on hard on a lot of it, I wish I had known that but now I have no excuse of doing it from now because obviously I can. I had to rest a few times between exercises that made me winded like you all said but not for a long time at all, long enough to adjust my heart rate slightly but I never did drop below zone 2 lol even after resting. I am extremely proud of myself and can't believe how proud of myself I am. This is a huge accomplishment for me.|||

Try taking just a two minute break, but really focus on your breathing so you can cool down effectively. And take one sip of water after every exercise. Just a sip.
|||Congrats on getting through that workout!!
Way to go!! |||Which is the pause button ? I tried pressing allsorts but it I couldn't get it to stop on Active 2, I ended up pressing the home button and then cancelling when I'd recovered from stitch (must have gone a bit OTT on the sprinting ).|||If you are on the Wii it is the plus (+) key. I'm not sure on the other consoles.|||Thankyou |||I would agree that maybe 15 minutes is too long but there is nothing wrong with taking a break. I am pretty breathless after Foot Fires or Mountain Climbers. I can usually squeeze in a little water before the next exercise starts.
I think there's be nothing wrong with a 2 or 3 minute break, just to catch your breath. Personally, once I have my heart rate up pretty high (120+) I'd rather keep it up above 100.
|||120 is high? Mine stays at 140+ typically when I go into zone 5 I am at 185 lol. No idea what that is all about.|||

I consider 120 as pretty low... during the workout my heart rate is rarely below 140, usually it is in zone 4 (160+).|||I am just saying that 120 is 55 beats a minute above my resting rate. Through a 25-minute workout I seem to be in the 120 range most of the time, and then burst to 140 or 150+, I think the highest I ever hit was 161.
I am a hiker and I don't like taking rests. (I am a turtle. Get the heart rate up, keep it up, but ... not way up.)
Are you guys holding in the 140-150 range through a workout? Yikes.|||

Not during these workouts, but generally speaking, yes. I just did a marathon in mid-December and bought EA Sports Active as an alternative to running for a while. Whenever I train for running, I maintain a heart rate of 140 to 150, but I can't seem to do that on the EA Active. Those thirty second breaks between exercises give me too much time to rest and my rate falls back down into the 120ish range.
