EA Sports Active 1.0 VS. 2.0

I am new to EA Sports Active and have been researching information online. I already have Wii Fit and wanted to add EASA for more of a work out. I saw that 2.0 is coming out next month and am not sure which one to buy now. Will 2.0 have the same exercises as 1.0? What about the More Workouts CD? Will I be better off buying 1.0 and getting 2.0 later on? Any help you all can give me would be awesome!!!!
Thank you!!
Jen |||Hi Jen, welcome to the site!!
EA Sports Active Personal Trainer is the first issue of the workout game and comes with a leg strap that holds the nunchuk and an elastic resistance band to help add resistance for the upper body exercises (arms). More Workouts came out later as an add on to Personal Trainer. It has different exercises and allows you to import your workout data from Personal Trainer into it. More Workouts did not come with the leg strap or resistance band as it expected you to already have them for the original game. They sell the leg strap and resistance band seperately in case you want to go straight to More Workouts without buying the original Personal Trainer. More Workouts has completely different exercises from Personal Trainer and they are not interchangeable.
EA Sports Active 2.0 will be a completely different system with different peripherals. They will not be compatable or interchangeable or have the same exercises in them. I understand you can still import data from the original programs into the 2.0 program. It looks like EA Sports Active 2.0 will be the next step in interactive fitness programs and we are all excited about it. It comes out in less than a month on 11/16. For Wii it will have a wireless leg strap (no more need to have the nunchuk wires going from the legstrap to the Wii controller) and an arm strap that detects movement, plus has a heart rate monitor in it.
IMHO all of the EASA workouts are better than Wii Fit for those that want to work up a sweat plus tone those muscles. I think you will be pleased if you end up buying one of the original programs to work with. If you only have money to buy one, you may want to wait for the Active 2.0 to come out. It will cost around $100 vs. the $50 for Personal Trainter. I would hate for you to be stuck in Active 1.0 and wishing you had waited for the Active 2.0 to come out. If you are really anxious to start in the original programs and are willing to upgrade later to 2.0 then I know you will be happy doing that, too.|||Thank you for your help!! I am considering going ahead and ordering 1.0 now and saving up money for 2.0 later on. SO many options! haha Thanks again.
Jen|||You can't go wrong with that!! Of the two original programs I like More Workouts better. It has the same type of exercises as Personal Trainer but they make it more fun. For instance, with PT you run circles around a track. In MW you run around a tropical island, usually with other "virtual" people running with you or racing you. MW also has step aerobics and a warm up/cool down sequence that PT does not have.
You may get differing opinions here but this is my opinion. Of course if you get just More Workouts you need to get a leg strap and a resistance band. FYI, the resistance band that comes with the games is pretty wimpy and most people buy their own stronger band pretty quickly once the original on breaks or is too weak. I think you can get "after market" leg straps in other locations too. Check Walmart, Target, Amazon and Ebay. EA Sports sells the leg band and resistance band together for $20.
